Jacob Waechter joined Piel Law Firm, LLC as an Associate Attorney in August, 2024, focusing his practice on commercial lending and commercial litigation. Jacob received his undergraduate degree from Washington College, magna cum laude, in Political Science.

Jacob graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law, summa cum laude, in 2019, and was inducted as a Distinguished Scholar to the Royal Graham Shannonhouse III Honor Society. While in law school, Jacob served as Associate Managing Editor for the University of Baltimore Law Review.

After law school, Jacob served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Mickey J. Norman in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County, Maryland.

Jacob has experience representing local, regional and national banks and other financial institutions in connection with the origination of commercial loans, including, real estate acquisitions, refinance transactions and asset based lending. Jacob also has experience representing commercial lenders in connection with commercial loan workouts, including documenting commercial loan restructurings and forbearance agreements, liquidating collateral and enforcing security interests.

Jacob is admitted to practice law in the State of Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
